On a hot summer night in mid-July, the Nepgoons brought the light to 3319 Marché with eccentric sounds and captivating energy during the debut of their latest collaborative project: "Goons Gonna Getcha." The Nepgoons are a dynamic duo composed of the unique musical worlds of Ajai Kasim and Claydough. The duo can be defined as a sound characterized by soulful raps, hyphy bounce, and R&B chords. Their innovative sound evokes emotions that capture and provide a refreshing contrast to the current soundscape, highlighting their wide-ranging talents.

Both born and raised in Oakland, the duo met early on in the illustrious musical world at the Oakland School for the Arts. Today, the duo resides on opposite coasts, resulting in hefty geographical challenges. However, they’ve managed to create music through FaceTime, truly showcasing their commitment to both their craft and friendship.

With heavy buildup and anticipation leading to their summer reunion, the duo was ready to rock the show at 3319 Marché. They went on to pack the house, performing the entire tape live from front to back, and giving attendees an unforgettable show that finished with chants of “encore, encore, encore!”
